Happy Friday, DMV! It’s August 21.

Today I offer summer photos from Mathilde Grant, 54, a digital artist and photographer who lives in the Georgetown neighborhood of D.C.

(Mathilde Grant)

She took this pic last month at the Bannockburn pool in Bethesda, where she works as a membership manager.

“I love this picture because I feel like it captures … that first hint of leaves falling off the trees and into the water ... that inkling that summertime is running out so let's make sure we soak up every minute of it,” she wrote in her submission.

Mathilde also sent this photo after seeing the photos of Daily Dose reader Sandy Tucker of the crowds at Bethany Beach.

“I went to the beach last week … it was SUPER quiet in Ocean City, because of jellyfish in the water!!! All week — we weren't able to swim once!” she wrote.

This newsletter is free. I work on it solo, spending hours each day looking for things to do, going out and doing them, writing about them — because I seek joy and want to share it with you. I treat my Daily Dose as a community gratitude journal and love doing it. If this newsletter brings you joy, please consider supporting my work with a one-time, monthly or yearly donation to help keep me going. Do you know anyone who would enjoy reading me?
