Good morning, DMV! It’s Thursday, Sept. 3.

People often ask me how I write every single day. How indeed.

I quite enjoy looking for fun things to do, scientists and experts to talk to, neighbors to tell me about their quirky projects. But yesterday, I hit a wall, so a day of rest for me today.

On my plate for coming days and next week: updates from the moth lady about her latest project, interviews about life after USAID and more.

Please consider supporting my work with a donation to help keep me going. Do you know anyone who would enjoy reading me? Forward this to them to help me grow. For newcomers: To subscribe, click here.

📷 Your joy

(Jocelyn Arthun)

Jocelyn Arthun, a resident of the West End of D.C., sent in this photo in May. I hadn’t used it, but my daughter saw it a few days ago, asked to look more closely, then cooed. So I’m sharing it for you to coo, too.

Here’s what Jocelyn wrote in her submission:

“On May 16th we drove out to Loudoun County for their biannual Farm Tours event. I was blown away by the variety of offerings (did you know there is a green tea farm in Loudoun County run by a ‘retired’ Korean couple?). My favorite of the day was the fantastic goat cheese at Georges Mill Farm Artisan Cheese, where we saw these adorable baby goats.”
